to think..

Lately, I don't know about you, but life has been hard. I know everyone goes through it, and everyone lives it, but it's how you cope with the changes in life that is dependent on your mood, attitude and feelings. I cope with music, and sometimes other things aswell, but music is a very good way to cope. When I'm down on myself, and I need comfort, i turn to music. It's always there for me and it always knows what to say, even if sometimes words are not present. Here are some good songs that have helped me cope, helped me through lately. I hope you love them as much as I do.

Poison - Lucy Wainwright Roche

Unfortunately this was the only video I could find, so you have to fast forward it to around 2:50 seconds for her to start singing. Enjoy it please because this song is amazing, so download it immediately.

Inside these lines - Trent Dabbs

We don't try - Chris Garneau

Let Go - Lindsay McCaul

That should do it, put this playlist on repeat and you've got yourself a way to cope.

Cheers..

different but the same.

So today i thought it could be interesting to post some, id say different music. All in excellence might i add, but different. For instance, might have different beats, or different lyrics or even a different sound. I think personally that it's interesting to see all of the different genres of music and different styles many artists decide to preforme or interpret. Different sounds could bring a song in such different directions. It's neat to think that there are different types of music, which all bring different emotions in play.

House on the hill - Beach House
In my opinion this song is very very unique. The unique beat present through out the song holds it together.

Alice - Pogo
This song is more ambiant id think. It's a bit repetitive but it gives the whole song that effect. I for one, think its an excellent song, very different.

I Want A House - Twin Sister
This tune is alot slower, and i absolutly love it. Though the only thing the artist really talks about is really wanting a house.

Now, I've just presented you with three excellent, very different songs. I thought it would be nice if i presented you with three very common vocale songs. No music ever sounds the same, all is unique and different and presents different emotions and different subjects.

This Love - Chad Michael Stewart
I absolutly love this song, its very deep. You can tell alot of emotion was put into making it. Also, mr Chad Michael Stewarts' voice is excellent and brings a large amount to the outcome of the song.
(Unfortunatly i couldnt find a video for this song, but download it.)

Wayside - Hawksley Workman
The start of this song i am not a huge fan of, by the starting i mean the first 10 - 20 seconds. But once you get into the chorus its an amazing song. I find this mans voice carries out the song and the lyrics are an added touch.
(Also no video for this song, bummer.)

Life before aesthetics - Denison Witmer
I just think this song is amazing.

(You have to fast forward the video about 10 - 15 seconds.)

Please enjoy!
:)

The Five Ghosts - Stars is OUT.

Stars' new cd is out and it surpassed my expectations.
It's one of the best cd's i've heard this year in 2010. Who agrees?
The Five Ghosts are a 100% Stars. The lyrics, the voice, the harmonization and everything about this album is great. I just love this entire cd, i recommend it to anyone to listen.

I'd like to point out one song in particular though it's called " Opinions Versus The Sun (Stars Vs. The Album Leaf). Now the album leaf is an amazing post-rock band that if you don't know, i also recommend checking them out aswell.

This song, i could listen to over and over again, its catchy despit how slow it is, though the tempo and beat are quite fast.

I'm so pleased with this cd, here are some excellent songs :

Dead Hearts

The Dead Beg for more ( Stars Vs. Of montreal )

I died so I could Haunt you

Winter Bones

The Five Ghosts

How Much More

Enjoy, and check out the rest!

Cheers

L-l-l-aura Veirs

So this is it everyone, in 4 full days of class, high school will be something of the past. It's unbelievable how fast it all went by and all of the memories and friendships i've gathered from this time in my life. I'm often sad when I think about leaving, because there are a couple select people that i am going to miss more than anyone or anything. It's hard not to think about not seeing them anymore everyday, and one of the hardest things I've ever had to do actually. Thank god for my music though, because it pushes me through these last days of class and into exams. I talked about once how music seems to stick with someone, reminding them of that part of their life, because of the frequent listening periods they had while undergoing that part of their life. Laura Veirs is who ill listen to to remember leaving this marvelous place. Her music is soft and relaxing and allows me to let myself god when I listen to her. I put her CD July Flames on repeat on my ipod, or on my laptop and just shuffle all of her songs because when I listen to her I remember the good times. Her voice is incredible, and i hope you all love her as much as I do. Here are my favorite songs by her, but i recommend all of her songs..

The Sleeper In The Valley - Laura Veirs

Wide-eyed, Legless - Laura Veirs

Little Deschutes - Laura Veirs

When you give your heart - Laura Veirs

Enjoy :)

Variation..

I've been really just mixing up my music these past few weeks. Variation is the word of the day.

A bit of folk would most definitly be Bon Iver. He is amazing, and i'm sure you've heard him before. If you have not yet token the time to listen to his entire album For Emma, Forever Ago. It would be a very good and productive way to consume time. It's an excellent CD, with excellent music. I'm going to post a song that you have likely not heard yet :
For Emma - Bon Iver

A bit of " Pop " which i really would not label this song as pop, just because well I label pop as disney music and really known artists and songs. This song on the contrary, it only amazing. The lyrics are so well written, and it tells such a beautiful story. It touches everyone in a certain way..
Car Crash - Wakey!Wakey!

An excellent Acoustic song is one that tells a story not only with voice, but also with the instrument. The song Heartbeats - Jose Gonzalez is an amazing acoustic song. I could listen to it over and over and over again and never does it fade me how beautiful this song is.
Heartbeats- Jose Gonzalez

Now, lets jump to Alternative styled music, I don't really agree with some music labeled alternative, just because music can be placed in so many different categories. That is besides the point, and the point is that Once more with feeling - Get cape. Wear cape. Fly is such an excellent song, that i really wanted to share it.
Once more with feeling - Get cape. Wear cape. Fly

Instrumental music. A lot of people are not very wanting to listen to instrumental music, but it's only because they don't realize how amazing some of it is. A lot of it tells a story, and there are even select songs that even though they have no voice attached, they spark your inner being and make you sing to them anyways, or hum or mumble. I'm going to throw two instrumentals at you today, because these songs are truly amazing..
Your hands in mine - Explosions in the sky

The Adjustor - The Octopus Project

I am not a huge fan of electronic, but Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cute is featured in Styrofoam's Couches In Alleys and managed to help me in understand how good it could be..
Couches in Alleys - Styrofoam

For a little Folk/Pop my choice was EASY. A fine frenzy is among one of my favorites. I could listen to her for the rest of my life, and her music would never phase me. Her voice is among one of the most unique and amazing i've ever heard. Choice of song today would be What I Wouldn't Do.
What I Wouldn't Do - A fine frenzy

WELL, i feel like today that is a good range of music.
Have a good one!
Cheers
